Common names: Large-leaved terminalia (English)
Status: Native
Medium-sized to large deciduous tree. Leaves 16-32 × 7-13 cm, spread out along the stems or clustered at the apex of the stems, oblong to broadly-elliptic, becoming glabrous above and with pale, sometimes brownish hairs beneath. Branchlets with pitted scars, becoming thickly corky with age. Flowers in axillary spikes, cream or greenish-white, strong-smelling. Fruit 6.5-12 × 2.5-5.5 cm, 2-winged, densely hairy, pale yellowish-green, occasionally slightly pink-tinged, hanging in heavy conspicuous masses, becoming pale brown when dry.

Worldwide distribution: Widespread in Africa occurring in West Africa, Angola, D.R. Congo, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
