Description:
Subshrub, up to 0.6(-1) m, with annual stems growing from a woody rhizome. Leaves oblong to obovate, bluish-green, variously pubescent, particularly below. Venation conspicuous, main veins reddish-purple. Flowers mostly solitary, axillary, petals greenish outside, creamy yellow within, fleshy, hairy.
Notes:
Derivation of specific name: stenophylla: narrow-leaved; nana: dwarf
Habitat: In frequently burnt grassland and open woodland.
Flowering time:Oct - Nov
Worldwide distribution: Angola, Katanga-DRC, Mozambique, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana and Namibia.
Growth form(s): Shrub under 2 m.
