Description:
Shrub or small tree with a rounded crown. Leaves narrowly ovate, bright green, hairless, often somewhat drooping. Flowers axillary, solitary or in very lax few-flowered racemes, white, sweetly scented. Fruit crowned with the persistent style and almost enveloped by the enlarged calyx, red when ripe.
Notes:
Derivation of specific name: dissitiflora: well-spaced flowers
Habitat: In woodland and riverine vegetation.

Worldwide distribution: Tanzania southwards to South Africa
Growth form(s): Tree, shrub over 2 m.
