Description:
Leafless perennial twiner or climber. Stems smooth, succulent with milky latex. Flowers in small sessile clusters at the nodes. Corolla green with lobes spreading or reflexed; corona white with outer lobes connected and erect. Fruit a pair of slender, pointed follicles.
Notes:
Derivation of specific name: gerrardii: named after William Tyler Gerrard (c.1831-1866), British botanical collector in Natal, Madagascar and Australia.
Habitat: In dry woodland and scrub, often on stony slopes.
