Description:
Annual herb, up to 70 cm. Leaves linear to lanceolate with a prominent midrib beneath. Flowers in many-flowered terminal and lateral compact umbels, greenish white. The small fruits bear small spines, c. 3 mm long.
Notes:
Derivation of specific name: sulcatum: grooved
Habitat: In sandy soils in deciduous woodland, grassland and as a weed of cultivation.
Flowering time:
Worldwide distribution: Angola, Namibia, Botswana, Mozambique, Zimbabwe and South Africa.
