Description: |
Shrub or rarely a small tree. Bark grey or buff; young branches velvety. Leaves opposite, obovate to oblanceolate, 6-16 cm long, densely grey-velvety below, domatia absent but bacterial nodules present along the veins and scattered; leaf base running down the petiole; stipules awned. Flowers in dense terminal heads, subtended by up to 3 pairs of leaves. Corolla 1-1.5 cm long, white; style up to 2.5 cm long, exserted. Fruit spherical, 6-8 mm in diameter, velvety, crowned by the remains of the calyx. |
