Description: |
Perennial herb with spreading stems growing from a woody rootstock. Leaves opposite, susessile, linear-lanceolate, 1-4 cm long,hairless or with hyaline hairs on both surfaces; margin sharply toothed; stipules 3-5 mm long, sharply tipped. Flowers in few-many-flowered verticillate clusters at the leaf nodes towards the ends of branches, white with the ovary pinkish or purple. Sepals 5, 3-4 mm long; petals oblanceolate, as long as the sepals. Stamens 10; styles 5. Capsule splitting into 5 valves. |
