Description:
Robust, erect perennial, 1-3 m. Stems glaucous, velvety, distinctly angled. Leaves alternate, broadly ovate, dark grey-green above, much paler greyish, below, finely velvety, 7-9-veined from the base; margins serrate. Lower leaves much larger than upper leaves. Flowers in apparent fascicles on short lateral and subterminal shoots, yellow to apricot-orange, opening in the afternoon. Calyx lobes short, less than 6 mm.
