Erect unbranched herb, up to 20 cm high; flowers yellow

Herb to 50 cm tall, brownish old stems and pale greenish younger ones. Leaves serrated, flowers white, axillary. Plant occurring on a flat plain wooded grassland with Syzygium cordatum, Dicerocaryum forbesii, Hyphaene sp.

60-80 cm errect annual herb. Yellow capitula with 5-6 rays.

Leaves hairy with a single inflorescence. Common in the area.

This is also a first record of the species and subspecies from Mozambique. The subspecies is otherwise known only from Zimbabwe, South Africa and Swaziland. (Robert Faden pers. comm with Barbara Turpin, 2017).

Semi-deciduous tree to 9 m tall, bark grey, roughly flaking; occasional in mixed deciduous coastal woodland on sands.

Deciduous small tree 2.5-3 m high, flowers yellow-cream, bark smooth, pale creamy-yellow powdery; scarce in open mixed deciduous coastal woodland on sands on edge of dambo.

Erect several-stemmed shrub to 2 m tall; in drainage line in degraded woodland on sandy soils.
