Description:
Creeper, climbing shrub, or liana up to more than 6 m high, twining and climbing over shrubs and in trees. Branches purplish-grey, sometimes with small orange-brown lenticels; branchlets densely brown-pubescent. Leaves more or less narrowly elliptic to ovate, 0·6–4·7 cm long, slightly leathery, pubescent on both sides when young, only so along the margin and on the midrib when older; petiole up to 6 mm long, densely brown-pubescent. Flowers 1–3, axillary. often also terminal -n 1–15-flowered inflorescences, sweetly scented. Peduncle 5–30 mm long, densely brown-pubescent. Sepals 1·8–5 mm long, ovate to triangular, pubescent, ciliate. Corolla tube white with red striations inside, 2·5–5 mm long; lobes white, sometimes tipped with yellow, very narrowly triangular, 7–22 mm long, often ciliate. Fruit in paired follicles, 15–50 cm long and 2–8 mm in diameter, slightly constricted between the seeds, densely brown-pubescent.
