Description:
|
Suberect or climbing shrub, usually up to 1.5 m tall but occasionally climbing higher into surrounding vegetation. Most parts covered in yellowish to white woolly hairs. Leaves oblong to very broadly ovate, up to 18.5 cm long, sometimes cordate at the base, densely covered in woolly hairs below, sometimes almost hairless above; margin entire. Petiole 2-10 cm long with a gland on each side at the base of the lamina. Flowers 1-3 together, axillary. Corolla funnel-shaped, 5-7 cm in diameter, mauve to rose-purple with a darker throat, occasionally white. Capsule oblong, ovoid or spherical, 20-25 mm long, leathery, hairless, dehiscing to show seeds covered in long, cotton-like white to yellowish-brown hairs. |
