Habitat: Occurs in open woodland on flat depression/pan. Growing in seasonally waterlogged clay, in full sun. Biotic effect: recently burnt.
Location: Caprivi, Mukwe District: Bwabwata National Park - East, Chetto village. South of Trans Caprivi Highway, along a dry river bed.

Notes: Perennial sedge, 1 m high. Leaves blue-green, leaf blade and sheath hairy. Seeds are covered in pale whitish pocket. Roots pale rust-brown in colour, are connected underground by rhizomes.
