Stems profusely branched from base, with dark grey bark; young branchlets with dense white indumentum. Leaves alternate but normally clustered on dwarf shoots, simple; petiole up to 1 cm long, adaxially grooved, yellow-green, densely pubescent; lamina ovate to elliptic to obovate, apex rounded to notched, base cuneate, margin entire and sinuate to obscurely dentate along upper margin, 30-80 x18-40 mm, adaxially dark olive-green with dense, short, white, adpressed indumentum, abaxially pale olive-green, indumentum as above, venation prominent with lateral veins merging with margin. Flowers past. Fruit a berry, fleshy, orange when ripe, ovoid, 1 cm long, in terminal clusters, fused sepals persistent as cupular structure extending 1/3 of fruit, style apically persistent.4
