Culm erect to slightly geniculate at base, unbranched, reed-like, terete, yellow-green, glabrous, glaucous. Leaf blade tightly rolled and tapering to a fine tip, up to 30 cem long, old leaves shrivelled and persistent at base, yellow- to dull-green, glabrous, base notched. Ligule a narrow, brown rim with sparse, short white hairs. Leaf sheath open but becoming imbricate around culm towards base, margin hyaline, fresh green, glabrous. Inflorescence a panicle, ovate in broad outline, 400 x 150 mm, secondary axis alternate but tending to be basally whorled glabrous, tertiary axis slender and undulate. Spikelets laterally flattened, ovoid. Flowers up to 5 x 1 mm, awnless. Glumes yellow to dark green, glabrous.-17.62500024.3750005
