Description of the genus

Epiphytic, rarely lithophytic, herbs. Pseudobulbs 0. Stems bearing numerous scales and roots. Leaves always 0. Inflorescences axillary, racemose. Flowers small, usually white but may be tinged with pink, brown or green. Sepals and petals free. Lip entire or obscurely 3-lobed, spurred. Pollinia 2.

Worldwide: 23 species in tropical and South Africa and Madagascar

Caprivi: 1 cultivated taxon.
