Description of the genus

Very small, epiphytic herbs. Plants vitually stemless, monopodial; pseudobulbs 0. Leaves, fleshy, arranged in a fan, often laterally flattened. Inflorescence many flowered, borne below the leaves. Flowers small, sessile, white, mostly obscured by the bracts.

Worldwide: 6 species in tropical Africa

Caprivi: 3 cultivated taxa.
