Description of the genus

Climbing shrubs and lianes with milky latex. Tendrils and stipules 0. Leaves with domatia. Corolla: tube with 5 corona scales in mouth; lobes 5, overlapping to the right. Fruit of 2 follicles. Seeds with an apical coma.

Worldwide: 7 species in Africa and Madagascar

Caprivi: 1 cultivated taxon.
