Description:
Erect annual herb, 50-150 cm. Leaves heteromorphic: lower leaves 3-5-foliolate or very deeply divided with narrow, linear-lanceolate lobes; upper leaves simple, glabrous, except for some mucilage glands; margin entire. Flowers 3.5 cm in diameter, reddish pink with darker lines in the lower corolla lobe. Fruit a obconical, beaked capsule. Seeds winged at both ends.

Habitat: In sandy soils along roadsides, in grassland and river beds.
