Description:
Evergreen shrub or small tree. Leaves opposite or subopposite, elliptic with distinctly undulate margins, dark bluish-green above, lighter below. Flowers small, creamy-white in short, dense, branched inflorescences in the leaf axils. Fruits small and spherical, thinly fleshy.
Notes:
Derivation of specific name: divinorum: plant used to make medicine for diviners in the Batoka region of southern Zambia.
Habitat: In open woodland, often associated with termite mounds.
Flowering time:Aug - Jan
Worldwide distribution: From Ethiopia and the Sudan south to South Africa.
