Description: | Erect perennial herb, 1-1.5 m (rarely up to 2m). Stems solitary from a semi-woody taproot, branching near the inflorescence. Leaves clasping the stem, variously pinnately lobed, sometimes almost entire, glabrous, glaucous or even somewhat variegated; margins finely serrated. Capitula in small terminal clusters, sometimes solitary; inflorescence branches covered in brown woolly hairs. Florets numerous, yellow, without rays. | |
