Description:
|
Erect shrubby herb, up to 2 m tall. Stems hairless or thinly pubescent, scarcely woody. Leaves 3-foliolate; leaflets elliptic to obovate-elliptic, up to c. 10.5 cm long, blunt or rounded at the apex, usually pubescent, at least when young. Flowers, c. 4 cm long, yellow, often marked reddish-brown on the outside, in lax many-flowered racemes. Keel 2-3 cm long. Pod oblong-clavate to subcylindric, 5-7.5 cm long, hairless but mottled when young, abruptly contracted into the stipe, usually about than half as long as the pod. See subsp. australis for comparison. |
