Description: | Climber, 3-5 m high with unarmed, right-twining annual stems, growing from fleshy cylindric tubers up to 5 cm in diameter. Vegetative parts and inflorescences with stellate hairs most dense on the inflorescences and young vegetative parts. Leaves usually opposite, heart-shaped, not lobed, hairy on the veins, cataphylls and nodal flanges absent. Inflorescences axillary of 1-several pendent spikes. Male flowers subsessile or pedicellate. Capsule 1-2 cm long and up to 3.7 cm wide. | |
